Ferric chloride is an orange to brown-black solid. It is slightly soluble in water. It is noncombustible. When wet it is corrosive to aluminum and most metals. Pick up and remove spilled solid before adding water. It is used to treat sewage, industrial waste, to purify water, as an etching agent for engraving circuit boards, and in the manufacture of other chemicals.

Ferric chloride is efficient flocculating agent in urban sewage and industrial sewage treatment aspect. It has remarkable function of heavy metal and sulfide sediment, decoloration, deodorization, oil removing, sterilization, dephosphorization and etc.
In construction industry-
it is used for preparation of concrete for strengthening of concrete strength, anti-corrosion performance and water proofing performance. It can be used together with ferrous chloride, calcium chloride, aluminium chloride, aluminum sulfate and hydrochloric acid to prepare water proofing agent of concrete.
In dyeing industry-as oxidizing agent of indigosol dye.
In metallurgy industry-as extraction agent
In glass industry-as coloring agent
In inorganic industry-It is used for manufacturing of other iron salt and printing ink.
In organic industry-as catalyst
It has another important use which is etching of hardware, such as, spectacle frame, clocks, electronic element and scutcheon.

Imọ ọja:

Ferric Chloride is an important inorganic flocculants, characterized by formation of alum with big density, precipitation easy, it's better than aluminum salt in dealing with low temperatures, low turbidity with a wide range of PH (5.0-11.0); It has special effect in the wastewater treatment of alcohol and leather with high protein; It's also used in electronic etching, engravingof textile printing roller, fabric mordants, etc.Especially for watertreatment in industries, corrosive for electronic printed board, chlorinating agent in metallurgical industry, oxidant and mordant in dye industry, and catalyst, oxidant, and chlorinating agent in organic synthesis, and also for making ferric salt, pigment as raw material.

Used as a medication, an analytical reagent, an etching agent (engraving, photography, and printed circuits), a catalyst, a mordant, a disinfectant, a pigment, and a feed additive; also used in sewage treatment and water purification; [HSDB] Found in nature as the mineral molysite; Used in photography, to make other iron salts, pigments, and inks, and for chlorinating silver and copper ores.
