1-Hexanol

1-Hexanol. It belongs to the fat primary alcohol, colorless transparent liquid at normal temperature and pressure, and has a special flavor. The molecular formula is C6H14O and the structural formula is CH3(CH2)5OH. Flammable and can form an explosive mixture with air. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether and other organic solvents, low toxicity, but irritating to the skin and mucous membranes, the main use is as an organic solvent and organic synthesis raw materials.

Used as a solvent for dyes, various rubber, special printing inks, oils, natural resins, etc., as a co-solvent for cellulose nitrate, and also used in the manufacture of plastics, synthetic lubricants, fragrances, medicine, etc.

(2) N-hexanol has been widely used in the formulation of flavors for 50 years, and is both an ingredient and a solvent in the formulation of various flavors. Mainly used to prepare coconut and berry flavor. Usually edible flavor with 0.22 ~ 18mg/kg. Used as soap flavor, detergent flavor, perfume flavor, cream flavor and so on.
