Sebacic Acid/Decanedioate

Sebacic acid also known as n-sebacic acid, 1, 10-sebacic acid, 1, 8-octanedioic acid, sebacic acid. Sebacic acid is an aliphatic dibasic acid found in flue-cured tobacco leaves, burley tobacco leaves and flavoured tobacco leaves. At room temperature, sebacic acid is white flake crystal, and industrial products are slightly yellow. Slightly soluble in water, insoluble in benzene,   easily soluble in ethanol and ether. Sebacic acid is flammable and low toxic. It is harmful when taken orally and has irritating effects on the eyes, respiratory system and skin. Natural castor oil or hexadipate monoester as raw materials, mainly used to produce sebacic acid esters, the esters have a wide range of uses. Sebacic acid has the molecular formula C10H18O4 and the chemical formula HOOC(CH2)8COOH.

Sebacic acid is widely used, mainly used to make sebacic acid esters, and its esters are widely used, such as dibutyl sebacate, dioctyl sebacate, diisooctyl sebacate. These esters can be used as plasticizers for plastics and cold-resistant rubber, and can also be used to make polyamides, polyurethanes, alkyd resins, synthetic lubricants, lubricant additives, fragrances, coatings, cosmetics, etc. It can also be used as raw material for the production of nylon 1010, nylon 910, nylon 810, nylon 610, nylon 9 and high temperature resistant lubricating oil diethylhexyl ester. It is also a raw material for the production of alkyd resins (used as surface coatings, plasticizer cellulose nitrate coatings and urea resin varnishes) and plasticizers, softeners and solvents for polyurethane rubber, cellulose resin, vinyl resin and synthetic rubber.
