Sebacic acid also known as n-sebacic acid, 1, 10-sebacic acid, 1, 8-octanedioic acid, sebacic acid. Sebacic acid is an aliphatic dibasic acid found in flue-cured tobacco leaves, burley tobacco leaves and flavoured tobacco leaves. At room temperature, sebacic acid is white flake crystal, and industrial products are slightly yellow. Slightly soluble in water, insoluble in benzene,   easily soluble in ethanol and ether. Sebacic acid is flammable and low toxic. It is harmful when taken orally and has irritating effects on the eyes, respiratory system and skin.
