Dipeptide Diaminobutyroyl  is a synthetic peptide or syn-peptide. Syn peptides are small synthetic proteins that are modeled off a non-synthetic or real-world peptide. In the case of Syn-ake, it is a synthetic peptide that is modeled off a protein found in the venom of the Temple Viper. The peptide that Syn-ake mimics is Waglerin-1. SYN-AKE binds to subunits of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, thereby blocking the binding of acetylcholine to the receptor, resulting in persistent receptor blockade.
