Sodium citrate is an organic acid sodium salt. The appearance is white to colorless crystal, has a cool and salty taste, and is stable in air. The chemical formula is C6H5Na3O7, soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, the aqueous solution is slightly alkaline, commonly used as a buffering agent, complexing agent, bacterial medium, in medicine for diuretic, expectorant, anticoagulant, and used in food, beverage, electroplating, photography and other aspects.
