Yellow powdery solid. Melting point 88 ~ 90℃, boiling point 162℃(1.6kPa). Insoluble in water, easily soluble in general organic solvents, especially easily soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate and benzene.

1. Mainly used to improve the heat resistance of resin, suitable for the manufacture of coatings, adhesives, photosensitive resins, medicine, pesticides and so on
2. N-phenylmaleimide (N-PMI) can be used as a vulcanization crosslinking agent in natural rubber and synthetic rubber, and as a heat modifier in ABS, PVC, PMMA resin and photosensitive materials, which can improve the heat resistance, impact resistance, hot melt and processability of the resin. N-PMI can be used as resin intermediates, used to manufacture heat-resistant polymers, plant growth promoters and other agricultural chemicals, N-PMI also has certain antibacterial activity.
