Due to the development of coating industry varieties, the emergence of synthetic resin coatings, its polymerization degree is large, such as adding zinc white, because of the zinc white alkaline, and the free fatty acid in the coating, and have a tendency to thicken; If zinc barium white is added, the weather resistance is poor. However, the use of titanium dioxide can improve the above shortcomings, because the particles of titanium dioxide are small and uniform, the photochemical stability is high, the covering rate is more than two times that of zinc white, zinc barium white, and the achromatic power is 5 to 6 times, so the amount of pigment in the entire paint can be greatly reduced. At the same time, the paint made is good in color, not easy to yellow, and has chemical stability such as heat resistance and acid resistance, sulfur resistance, alkali resistance, especially rutile titanium dioxide, its structure is stable, weather resistance is better than anatase type, ultraviolet radiation resistance, outdoor will not powder and other advantages. Therefore, it is suitable for all kinds of high-grade ships, Bridges, automobiles, buildings and other outdoor coatings with high weather resistance. Anatase titanium dioxide is generally only used for indoor paint. It can be seen that titanium dioxide has become an essential white pigment in the production of coatings. About 60% of the world's titanium dioxide is used in the production of various coatings.
