Acetaminophen, also known as paracetamol or acetaminophen, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C8H9NO2, which is the metabolite of phenacetin in the body. Unlike other common analgesics such as aspirin and ibuprofen, acetaminophen has a lower anti-inflammatory effect and is therefore a safer option for those who cannot use non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
