When 315ºC is heated in the air, it begins to be oxidized, and the temperature rises, and the oxidation reaction is accelerated.

Molybdenum disulfide is insoluble in water, dilute acid and concentrated sulfuric acid, generally insoluble in other acids, bases, organic solvents, but soluble in boiled concentrated sulfuric acid.

It is mainly used in automobile industry and machinery industry. Molybdenum disulfide can replace stable solid lubricating material.
