4-Tert-Butylcatechol

4-Tert-Butylcatechol is a white or pale yellow powder with the formula C10H14O2, soluble in methanol, carbon tetrachloride, benzene, ether, ethanol, and acetone. It is obtained by the reaction of tert-butanol with catechol or by the reaction of catechol with isobutylene. It can be used as a heat-sensitive inhibitor.

Appearance and properties: white or slightly yellow or slightly red solid.

Solubility: soluble in hot water, soluble in cold water, slightly soluble in methanol, octanol.

【 Use 1 】
Used as an inhibitor for styrene, butadiene and other vinyl monomers, and as a stabilizer for antioxidants and pesticides.

【 Use 2 】
Used as polymerization inhibitor and antioxidant.

【 Use 3 】
The product is 25 times higher than hydroquinone at 60℃, and is an efficient inhibitor for olefin monomer distillation or storage, especially for styrene, butadiene, chlorobutadiene, isoprene and other monomers. Also used in vinyl chloride, vinylpyridine, alpha-olefin, nonene, cyclopentadiene, isoprene, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid and its esters, chlorinated olefin, polyurethane, etc. The product is also used as an antioxidant for polyethylene, polypropylene, polychloroprene, synthetic rubber, nylon and other polymers, and as an antioxidant for grease and its derivatives, ethyl cellulose, lubricating oil, caprolactam, maleic anhydride, tin and other metal soap compounds. In addition, it can also be used as a passivating agent of polyurethane catalyst, insecticide and stabilizer of various organic compounds.

This product is mainly used as an efficient inhibitor in the distillation or storage of olefin monomers, especially for unsaturated resins, styrene, butadiene, chlorobutadiene and isoprene and vinyl chloride monomers.
