1. Triisobutyl aluminum is a colorless liquid with a strong pungent odor.
2. It can react with water to produce flammable hydrogen and aluminum hydroxide.
3. Triisobutyl aluminum easily reacts violently with oxygen and is rapidly oxidized in the air.

This product is used as polymerization catalyst for butadiene rubber, synthetic resins, synthetic fibers and olefin polymers. It is also used as an intermediate of organometallic compounds and a high-energy raw material and reducing agent of jet engine ignition system.
