It is produced by the reaction of phenyl ethanol with hydrogen bromide. The phenylethanol is heated to 110℃, and the hydrogen bromide is slowly introduced and the reflux reaction is carried out. At the end of the reaction, cool, wash with water, 10% sodium carbonate solution, and water in turn. After drying with anhydrous potassium carbonate, vacuum fractionation was performed and 97-99℃ (2.0kPa) fractions were collected. The yield was over 90%.
