Potassium carbonate is a kind of inorganic substance, chemical formula K2CO3, molecular weight is 138.206, white crystalline powder, density 2.428g/cm3, melting point 891℃. Soluble in water, aqueous solution is alkaline, insoluble in ethanol, acetone and ether. Strong hygroscopic, exposed to the air can absorb carbon dioxide and water, into potassium bicarbonate, should be sealed packaging.

The inorganic industry is used to manufacture potassium sodium tartrate, potassium aluminum fluoride, potassium thiocyanate, titanium dioxide. Pharmaceutical industry for the manufacture of long-acting sulfonamide, progesterone, cortisone, zhiacol, estradiol benzoate and other drugs. Glass industry is used to prepare enamel powder to enhance its leveling, add to glass to help melt, and improve glass transparency and refractive coefficient. The dye industry is used to manufacture Yindan Tulin, disperse red 3B, VAT ash M and so on. The printing and dyeing industry is used for printing and dyeing of VAT dyes and bleaching of ice dyes. The rubber industry is used to manufacture 4010 antioxidant. The wool and ramie cotton industry is used for cooking cotton cloth and degreasing wool.
Potassium carbonate is one of the important basic inorganic chemical, medicine, light industry raw materials, mainly used in optical glass, welding electrode, electronic tube, TV picture tube, light bulb, printing and dyeing, dyes, inks, photographic drugs, pholinine, polyester, explosives, electroplating, leather, ceramics, building materials, crystal, potash soap and medicine production. Used as gas adsorbent, dry powder fire extinguishing agent, rubber antioxidant. It is also used to remove carbon dioxide from fertilizer syngas. It can also be used as potash fertilizer. With the continuous development of high and new technology, the application of potassium carbonate in washing additives, MSG, food and other fields is also expanding day by day.
Potassium carbonate is mainly used in the manufacture of potassium glass, potash soap and other inorganic chemicals, as well as for the removal of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide in industrial gases, and is also used in welding rods, ink manufacturing, printing and dyeing industry.
