Sulfamic acid is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water and has the chemical formula H3NSO3. It is also known as amidosulfonic acid or sulfamidic acid.It is a strong acid that can be used as a cleaning agent, a descaling agent, and a herbicide. It is also used in the production of dyes, pharmaceuticals, and flame retardants. Sulfamic acid is a safer alternative to hydrochloric acid for many industrial and household applications because it is less corrosive and less volatile.  It is non-corrosive to metals and does not produce toxic fumes.It is also used as a substitute for urea in some fertilizers.

--White orthorhombic crystal. Nonvolatile, nonhygroscopic, odorless. High stability at normal temperature and can maintain original quality for several years. Freely soluble in water and liquid ammonia, strongly acidic in water solution.
--Slightly soluble in methanol, insoluble in ethanol and ether. Characteristics of double functional group of amidogen and sulphonic radical, may go on chemical reaction with many matters.
--Melting point is 205oC, decomposing temperature is 209oC.

It can be used in water treatment sterilization, bleach fiber, wood and paper; Acidification process, removing nitrite in tobacco, sludge treatment in oil mines; Manufacturing of Dyes, Pigments; Fire retardant; Curing agent in plastic industry; Chlorine Stabilization; Electroplating and Electro-refining; Raw material for pesticide intermediate, ramification of sulfamic acid etc.
