Dl-Methionine

DL-methionine (Abbreviated Met) is one of the 18 common amino acids, and one of the eight essential amino acids at the animal and human body. It is mainly used as feed additives in fish, chickens, pigs and cows meal in order to keep animal and fowl growing healthily. It can improve the milk secretion of cows, prevent the occurrence of hepatosis. Besides, it can also be used as amino acid medicines, injection solution, a nutritional infusion, the agent of protective liver, the therapy liver cirrhosis and toxic hepatitis.

DL-Methionine is one of the basic units for composing the protein, is the only sulfur bearing amino acid among the essential amino acids, it participated in the transmethylation interior the animal body, the phosphorus metabolism and the adrenalin, choline and creatine synthesis, it also is the raw material of the protein and cystine synthesis. Methionine is unable to synthesize in the animal body, must take in from food. Adds it in the feed, can promote the poultry to grow, increase lean meat quantity and reduce the feeding cycle.

DL-Methionine Feed Grade is approved for use in all animal species. Particularly use in monogastrics, it ensures the adequate supply of sulfur amino acids, especially of the  essential methionine. Additionally,  diets  for piglets and  growing pigs  can show a considerable deficiency in methionine, especially when fomulated to achieve low nitrogen excretion for ecological reasons.
