Product Description

Sodium potassium tartrate (chemical formula: NaKC4H4O6·4H2O), also known as potassium sodium tartrate, Roche salt, Rochelle salt, sodium tartrate and potassium tartrate formed a double salt. It is colorless to blue-white orthorhombic crystal, soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, salty and cool, the aqueous solution is slightly alkaline. At 60°C it begins to lose its crystal water and at 215°C it loses all its crystal water. Two moles of potassium hydrogen tartrate dissolved in water and heated, adding one mole of sodium carbonate, filtration while hot, the insoluble substance dried and crystallized, that is, potassium and sodium tartrate was obtained. Potassium sodium tartrate can be used as a laxative, a food additive (E number E337), piezoelectric components, and as a chemical agent for the preparation of Fehring reagent, biuret reagent, and as a reducing agent for the production of the silver layer on the back of the mirror.

Features

Potassium sodium tartrate is a kind of organic matter, the chemical formula is NaKC4H4O6, the use of grape waste containing tartar and sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide to produce neutralization reaction C4O6H4KNa is divided into D type and DL type two, D type is colorless transparent crystal. Density 1.79g/cm3. Melting point 75℃. It is weathering in hot air, losing part of the crystal water at 60 ° C and all the crystal water at 215 ° C. The solubility in water is 18.4g at 0℃ for 100 ml, 40.6g at 10℃ for 100 ml, 54.8g at 20℃ for 100 ml, and 76.4g at 30℃ for 100 ml. Insoluble in alcohol. It can form soluble complexes with aluminum, beryllium, cadmium, cobalt, molybdenum, niobium, lead, nickel, palladium, platinum, rhodium, antimony, tin, tantalum, tungsten, zinc, (copper), selenium, tellurium and other metal ions in alkaline solution.

Application

1. In the printing industry, plate making, mirror making, hot water bottle industry as reducing agent.

Product knowledge:

Determination of potassium and sodium tartrate: So far, the analysis and determination of potassium and sodium tartrate in the tartrate plastic electroless copper plating solution generally uses potassium permanganate for oxidation reaction, and calculates the content of potassium and sodium tartrate through the amount of potassium permanganate consumed. Due to the reaction of formaldehyde and other reducing agents in electroless copper plating solution with potassium permanganate, the analysis result is too high, so the content of potassium and sodium tartrate can not be accurately determined. This titration method is simple to operate, easy to master, and the end point is obvious. The result is roughly the same as the theoretical value, and the relative error is small, which is a method worth popularizing. Abstract: Tartrate and lead nitrate form white precipitate of lead tartrate, which is dissolved in ammonia water. Excess lead and hydroxide form a white precipitate of lead hydroxide as the end point.
