Octreotide acetate is a chemical, the main component of octreotide, chemical formula C49H66N10O10S2. It is mainly suitable for long-term administration of acromegaly and some digestive carcinoid and neuroendocrine tumors.

【Indication】 Active acromegaly requiring long-term octreotide therapy, such as increased serum growth hormone levels due to growth hormone residual tumor after surgery, increased serum growth hormone levels that have not reached full efficacy after external pituitary radiation therapy, may not be suitable for surgical treatment or preoperative treatment for patients with newly diagnosed growth hormone-secreting adenoma.

【Drug classification】Endocrine system drugs - hypothalamic-pituitary hormones and related drugs - auxin-releasing inhibitory hormone analogues.

Instructions for Administration: This product is only suitable for long-term treatment of acromegaly and some gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors and neuroendocrine tumors. It is not suitable for short-term treatment of acute pancreatitis and upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage.
Dosage and Administration: Method of Controlling Active Acromegaly:
1. Start with octreotide for 2-8 weeks, then switch to long-acting octreotide for maintenance therapy after GH levels have decreased. There is no need for a washout period with octreotide.
2. Start with long-acting octreotide directly, with an initial dose of 20mg given by deep intramuscular injection every 4 weeks. If GH levels do not decrease satisfactorily, the dose is increased to 30mg at the 4th injection. If GH levels or IGF-I levels decrease by less than 50%, discontinue treatment and switch to other therapies.
Preparations and Specifications: Long-acting octreotide injection: ①20mg; ②30mg.
Contraindications: Patients who are allergic to octreotide or any of the components of the preparation are prohibited from using it.
