Sodium Hydrosulphite

Sodium Hydrosulfite , commonly known as Sodium dithionite, also known as sodium hyposulfate, is a strong reducing agent in two forms: dihydrate salt and anhydrous salt. Dihydrate is a slightly yellow flake like crystal with extremely unstable chemical properties, only present in alkaline solutions. When heated to a certain temperature, it is dehydrated and converted into anhydrous salts; Anhydrous salt is a white crystalline powder that exists stably when dried at room temperature.

2. In the presence of moisture or aqueous solution, sodium bisulfite and sodium bisulfate are quickly generated and become acidic.
3. It is easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, and the aqueous solution is neutral. Easy to burn when wet. Due to its unstable nature, a certain amount of stabilizer is added to the finished product.

Sodium hydrosulfite powder is widely used in reductive dyeing, reductive cleaning, printing and decolorization of textile industry and bleaching of fabrics such as silk, wool and nylon. Because it does not contain heavy metals, the bleached fabrics have bright color and are not easy to fade. Sodium hydrosulphite powder can also be used in organic synthesis, such as reducing agent or bleach in the production of dyes and drugs. It is suitable for bleaching of wood pulp and paper, and can also be used to preserve food and fruits.
