Cyclobutyl methanol, also known as cyclopentanol, is an organic compound.

Preparation:
There are two common ways to prepare cyclobutyl carbinol:
Through the cyclic debromination reaction of cyclopentabromide, using alkene as reducing agent, cyclopentabromide was reduced to cyclobutyl methanol.
Through cyclic dehydration reaction, using sulfuric acid and other acid catalyst, one water molecule in cyclopentanol molecule is removed to produce cyclobutyl methanol.
