β-Pseudouridine also known as 5-ribosyluracil, is an isomer of the nucleoside uridine in which the uracil is attached via a carbon-carbon instead of a nitrogen-carbon glycosidic bond. Pseudouridine is a ubiquitous yet enigmatic constituent of structural RNAs (transfer, ribosomal, small nuclear (snRNA) and small nucleolar)

Pseudouricdine is a natural structural analogue of uracil nucleoside, and ribose is not connected to uracil N1, but to C5 of the pyrimidine ring. It is a rare nucleotide present in tRNA.
