Tetrabutyl titanate is easy to react with amino, hydroxyl, carboxyl, amide and other polar groups, especially easy to hydrolysis reaction with water. Soluble in a variety of organic solvents except ketones.

Used for transesterification reaction, can be used as high strength polyester paint modifier, high temperature resistant coating additive, medical adhesive, crosslinking agent and condensation reaction catalyst and other uses for transesterification reaction, applied to paint can improve the thermal resistance (heat resistance to 500ºC), improve the adhesion of paint, rubber and plastic to metal surface, also used as condensation catalyst, crosslinking agent.
