Neoarsphenamine CAS 457-60-3

Neosalvarsan (compound 914) is a salt derivative of Salvarsan and is water soluble, which showed reduced side effects .Later work showed that neither Salvarsan nor Neosalvarsan was the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API).

1. Hydrogenation of propylene: Using propylene as raw material, through the action of catalyst, hydrogenation reaction at appropriate temperature and pressure to produce propane. The propane is then subjected to successive oxidation and dehydrogenation reactions to produce Neosalvarsan.

2. Oxidation of butanol: Using butanol as raw material, butanol is converted into butanaldehyde through oxidation reaction. Then the butyraldehyde is dehydrogenated to produce Neosalvarsan at a suitable temperature and pressure.

3. Catalytic dehydrogenation of butane: with butane as a raw material, through the action of a catalyst, the dehydrogenation reaction is carried out under the appropriate temperature and pressure to produce Neosalvarsan.

Yellow powder or granules. It is easily oxidized in air and accelerates oxidation at high temperature. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, chloroform and ether.
Anti-spirochetosis drug. For syphilis, yaws, regression fever, and rat bite fever.Treatment against syphilis.
