Hydroxylamine Hydrochloride

Hydroxylamine Hydrochloride is a strong reducing agent that is useful in biochemical crosslinking applications, including the deacetylation of SATA and chemical cleavage of EGS and Sulfo-EGS. Hydroxylamine converts carbonyl compounds (aldehydes and ketones) to their oxime derivatives in the presence of a weak base. Therefore, crosslinkers and other compounds that contain a carbonyl within their structure are cleavable with hydroxylamine•HCl.
EGS  and its water-soluble analog, Sulfo-EGS, are homobifunctional, succinimidyl ester, amine-reactive crosslinkers useful for covalent stabilization of polypeptide multimers and protein:protein interactions. Unlike disulfidecontaining crosslinkers, EGS and Sulfo-EGS will not cleave by reducing SDS-PAGE conditions but may be cleaved when necessary with hydroxylamine.

This product is mainly used as a reducing agent and imaging agent. It is used in organic synthesis for the preparation of Hydrazine and is also used as a raw material for the synthesis of anticancer drugs(hydroxyurea), sulfa drugs(novomin) and pesticides(midovir). Used as a depolarizer in electrical analysis, used as a short-term stop agent without coloring in the synthetic rubber industry. The pharmaceutical industry is used as a new norming intermediate. The synthetic dye industry is used as an indigo intermediate preparation. The oil industry is used as an antiaging agent and an antioxidant for fatty acids and soaps. Analytical chemistry is used as a reducing agent for the analysis of formaldehyde, camphor and glucose. Depolarization agent in electrochemical analysis. It is also used for the determination of magnesium components in steel, the trace analysis of sulfonic acid and fatty acids, and the testing and analysis of aldehydes and ketones as depolarizers.
