Baclofen is a γ-aminobutyric acid derivative. It is an antispasmodics class drugs acting on the central nervous system, the brain and spinal cord as a skeletal muscle relaxants and sedatives. It take antispasmodic effect by stimulating receptors to inhibit the release of excitatory amino acids such as glutamic acid, aspartic acid and thereby inhibiting the transfer of single and multi-synaptic reflex in central nervous system, brain and spinal cord.

1). Bone muscle spasm caused by multiple sclerosis.
2). For spasms caused by infectious, degenerative, traumatic, tumor or unexplained spinal cord disease, Such as: spastic spinal paralysis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spinal cord cavitation, transverse myomyelitis, traumatic paraplegia or paralysis, spinal cord compression, spinal cord tumors and motor neuron disease.
3). Used for brain-derived muscle spasms, such as: muscle spasms caused by cerebral palsy, infantile cerebral spasm, stroke and cerebral vascular accidents, brain tumors, degenerative encephalopathy, meningitis, and craniocerebral trauma.
4). It can also be used for urinary retention caused by external sphincter.
