Veterinary drugs & feed


Veterinary drugs: refers to substances used to prevent, treat, diagnose animal diseases or to purposefully regulate the physiological function of animals (drug-containing feed additives).

Veterinary drugs mainly include: serum products, vaccines, diagnostic products, micro-ecological products, Chinese medicinal materials, proprietary Chinese medicines, chemicals, antibiotics, biochemical drugs, radiopharmaceuticals and external pesticides, disinfectants, etc.

Veterinary drugs can be roughly summarized into four categories:

  • general disease prevention drugs;
  • infectious disease prevention drugs;
  • Anti-parasitic diseases in vivo and in vitro;
  • (including growth-promoting drugs). Among them, except for biochemical immune products for the prevention and control of infectious diseases (vaccines, vaccines, sera, antitoxins and toxoids, etc.), and special veterinary drugs such as drugs for animal and poultry special parasitic diseases and growth promotion drugs, the rest are the same as human use, but the dosage, dosage form and specifications are different. It has long been widely used to control livestock and poultry diseases.

Among veterinary drugs, more than 20 kinds are commonly used, such as anaijin, amoxicillin, flufenicol, ceftiofur, oxytetracycline, aureomycin, bacitracin, salomycin, monenamycin and colistin. 60% of antibiotics are used for chemotherapy; 40% used not only has the effect of preventing infectious diseases, but also can promote the growth of livestock and poultry and improve the utilization rate of feed.

Feed is a general term for the food of all animals raised by people, and in a narrower sense, general feed mainly refers to the food of animals raised in agriculture or animal husbandry. Feed includes soybean, soybean meal, corn, fish meal, amino acid, miscellaneous meal, whey powder, oil, meat and bone meal, grain, feed additives and other feed raw materials of more than ten varieties.
