Benzocaine

Ethyl p-aminobenzoate, also known as benzocaine, is an organic compound with the chemical formula C9H11NO2. It is colorless oblique crystal, odorless and tasteless, soluble in alcohol, ether, chloroform, soluble in almond oil, olive oil, diluted acid, and insoluble in water. It is clinically used for relieving pain and itching of wounds, ulcerations, burns, skin scratches and hemorrhoids. Systemic toxicity is low, but mild sensitization.
